Michael J. Butler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Director of the Henry J. and Erna D. Leir Luxembourg Program at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts (USA). In 2014-15, he was a Fulbright Scholar at the Institute of International Studies, University of Wrocław (Poland). His research is primarily focused on security studies, conflict management and resolution, and foreign policy analysis. He is the author or editor of five books including (2019), (2019) (with M.A. Boyer and N.F. Hudson), (2012); and (2009). Butler has published numerous articles in journals including and, and has served on the editorial boards of , and .
